MRC Launches Research Funding to Address Tobacco Disparities
The Minority Research Collaborative (MRC) is advancing health equity by funding new research projects focused on tobacco use and mental health among Arkansas’ minority populations. Studies include investigations into dual usage of combustible cigarettes and marijuana, as well as vaping trends in rural communities. Projects already underway include research led by Dr. Derek Slagle and Dr. Carmen Hardin, which delve into substance use trends among African American college students.
